IMPORTANT DVD FIRMWARE UPDATE
INFORMATION
A firmware update may be required to make your DVD drive
compatible with some different speeds and/or types of DVD
media. It is best to first contact the manufacturer of your
drive or computer for the latest firmware updates and installation
instructions. You must use the firmware update(s) that was
created specifically for your drive.
You may be able to find the firmware update(s) for your
drive by following the links below.
Here are some examples of the firmware update(s) your drive
may need:
- Existing 2.4x DVD-R drives may require a firmware update(s)
to ensure compatibility with 4x speed DVD-R and/or DVD+R
media.
- Existing 4x DVD+R drives may require a firmware update(s)
to ensure compatibility with 8x speed DVD+R and/or DVD-R
media.

- Click on your country
- From the middle of the page click on your drive manufacturer
- Follow the instructions on the manufacturer’s
page to download and install the firmware update
TO LOCATE DVD+R/+RW FIRMWARE:
- Open this page: http://www.dvdrw.com/productupgradeportal/index_en.html
- From the middle of the page select your drive manufacturer
from the “Outside Japan” pull-down list (assuming
you are not in Japan)
- Follow the instructions on the manufacturer’s
page to download and install the firmware update
